Princess Cruises Circle the Globe

For a few decades now, the Princess cruise company has had an extensive fleet of cruise liners sailing around the globe, stopping at just about every destination possible for cruise ships. Princess Cruises provide their customers with a wide array of itineraries to choose from, starting with short three-day trips to voyages that will keep you floating along for more than two months. All-in-all, the Princess ships sail into more than 200 different ports located on six continents.

From popular Caribbean ports to exotic destinations in Africa or the Orient, just about anyone can enjoy a great vacation on a Princess cruise ship. This cruise line has set itself apart from the other ones by voyaging to more global destinations than any of the others. From their offices in Seattle, Princess was also a leader in opening up the northern waters as a popular sea-going destination and they operate the largest tour division that specializes in Alaskan cruises.

Princess Cruises have a long-standing reputation for wonderful, quality accommodations and for a variety of activities that people can experience and enjoy. When first arriving, passengers are enthralled with the shimmering brass set against fine quality teak woodwork. In addition, they enjoy settling into the buttery-soft leather furnishings that grace their spacious staterooms and the common areas of the ship. Many find that the level of luxury aboard Princess ships is surprising given the affordability.

There are three different classes of ships available for a Princess Cruise. The Grand Class ships are the newest vessels in its fleet, can accommodate up to 3,100 passengers, and feature some innovative amenities and unique design elements. The design of the Grand class ships allows for a feeling of spaciousness while at the same time providing opportunities for intimacy. Also featured are a variety of dining rooms, entertainment venues, special amenities such as a virtual reality center and computerized golf options.

The other two classes of Princess cruise ships are the Sun Class of ships which were first debuted in 1995. A Sun Class ship is able to carry about 1,900 passengers. The Explorer Class ships in the Princess cruise line are the smallest and provide a more intimate atmosphere, while still providing all of the modern amenities that people expect to enjoy on their vacations.

While it is important to be comfortable on such a trip, it is also important to consider what type of shore excursions that your trip offers after arriving at the various ports. The Princess Cruise Adventure Ashore program has more than a thousand tours and activities available throughout the network of ports that they sail to worldwide. In addition to this huge selection of day excursions, Princess also has an expansive choice in "cruise tour" offerings, that let you combine your cruising with multi-day land tours at the various ports-of-call.

Princess Cruises have also attempted to help their passengers make the most of their vacations by helping them make arrangements to extend their trips with either pre-cruise or post-cruise options. They have a Princess Cruise Plus program that helps customers find interesting tours and sight-seeing excursions in some of the hot spots of the world. As well, they often are able to find discounts for hotel reservations and events at these destinations.
